John F. Barnes Myofascial Release Approach

John Barnes Myofascial Release Approach is a whole body/mind system of healing which addresses patterns within the connective tissue system in the whole person. This system can hold "body memories" related to trauma, repetitive stress, surgery and poor posture patterns which can create pain, limited mobility and organ dysfunction through the entire structure. Restrictions in the memory of the fascial matrix can also lead to mental/emotional symptoms such as anxiety, PTSD and depression.

MFR is a client directed approach to discovering and disrupting these patterns to allow the body/mind to restore to a higher level of function. Receiving MFR feels like the body is deeply being stretched and clients often report a feeling of lightness and freedom after even one session.

This is a hands-on form of therapy and you will be treated on a comfortable massage table after your posture and movement has been evaluated. Female clients wear a medical gown and male clients are asked to bring a pair of loose fitting shorts for treatment.

We are also now offering co-treatments (2 therapists) with Kathy Monkman, LMT and Laura Lamb, LMT. Please inquire for details.
